This course is directed toward the practical aspects of effectively teaching the science of astronomy. The first day of the 2-day workshop concentrates on common misconceptions in the teaching of astronomy and strategies to overcome them. The second day concentrates on content, and is mostly devoted to current discoveries and recent changes in our understanding of how the universe works. ESU’s McMunn Planetarium will be utilized for instruction as will the ESU observatory (weather permitting).
